I got your book with DVD and I love it! There is an awesome variety of dances, included in this book. I loved that it included some history in this book, very educational. I think this product is great! the written instructions, the music I could give a live musician, the dvd that helped me visualize all of it! WOW WOW WOW! It also includes a code where you can download live music, or play the music off the DVD! I highly recommend this as a resource, worth more than what you are paying, a true jewel of historic dances!

If you have ever wished you could hold your own barn dance, this book is for you! The accompanying DVD is especially valuable for learning the dances.

Rare find...The DVD is most helpful in seeing what the dances are supposed to be.

A great invaluable resource with dance notes and written music and a DVD with music and dances. Can be used for a special Pioneer Ball, in the classroom, dances for all ages, dances that are familiar in many western states. A true connection with the pioneer spirit.

I have so enjoyed the Mormon Pioneer Dances book along and the accompanying DVD. The dances are well researched. I love the explanation of the dance steps in the glossary, too. But what I really like the best is the DVD where I can see the dance steps in action. I have taught folk and world dance at local and state level workshops for many years and it is so useful to be able to see how the dance looks in reality. This book and DVD make it so easy to recreate the dances that our ancestors loved and looked forward to dance to lift their spirits during the hard times. This would be an excellent resource for those going on a Trek re-enactment, for an activity with the youth or adults, or even for a family reunion.One other thing that will be helpful is the Mormon Pioneer Era Clothing for the Dance found in the glossary so you can create your own costume for the pioneer dances.Thank you Laraine for helping us keep alive the dances that many of our ancestors danced with accurate information.
