This is as much a juicing reference book as it is a recipe resource. The first half of the book includes descriptions of various common health issues from AIDS/HIV, Arthritis to Water Retention. Each described condition includes which types of foods to focus on consuming as well which to avoid. The last is which recipes (with page numbers) to use for relief(?). The next section is a sort of encyclopedia of fruits, vegetables, herbs and such that aid the previously described conditions. Again in alphabetical order for ease of reference. The recipes are grouped logically, and each includes relevant side bar notes regarding any potentially harmful ingredients (licorice, for example can be dangerous to someone suffering hypertension).There is even a source reference and glossary.My only complaint is that this book isn't available in a spiral bound edition. I ended up cutting the spine off mine and putting it in a 3-ring binder so I can lay it flat.

I looked through the book prior to purchasing it so I knew what to expect, but if you've never seen the book, I'll provide a brief review. the book is divided into sections. there is one section which speaks to several ailments (in Alpha order) and tells you what to get more of, what to avoid and has page numbers to recipes good for those ailments. It also goes through fruits, veggies and herbs and how to juice them, pulp them and use them for teas, what to look for when picking your fruits and how to clean them. Then the book goes into recipes, first fruit juices, then veggie juices, smoothies, teas and cocktails. It is a great resource that I use often.

When the juicing craze got big, I jumped on board. I like juice but haven’t been the biggest fan of veggies juiced. This book has a TON of really tasty recipes and combinations of veg/fruit that tastes great. There is also a bunch of information in this book about what the juices do for body, how they help it, detox or improve function. If you are interested in juicing and looking for a great guide to getting started this is the book for you. I have loaned it out

After reading several reviews about this book, one of which said that weird or unusual ingredients are called for I almost didn't purchase this book. I did see a copy in a store and took a brief look at it. Most of the recipes do not require special items. What blew me away about this book was the benefits given of specific fruits and vegetables. Not only does this book have juicing recipes but recipes for using your blender and for making teas. All of the recipes provide health benefits. This book is very handy for making healthy choices.

I own a juice and smoothie bar and have a lot of customers who look for new and delicious juice and smoothie specials. I bought this book hoping to get some fresh ideas and combinations. While the author does offer some nice combos, ALL of them are complicated, requiring one to make a tea of some obscure sort, then blend in something else. All of this is total pain. It makes all these offerings seem more like medicine than food.Another thing-there are NO YIELDS ANYWHERE! So one juice will make 4 ounces, another will make 8-10. I'd expect some variation based on the age of the fruits and veggies but these recipes are all over the place.It would be useful to have a note attached to each juice recipe with whatever nutritional benefits can be had by drinking it. Such as-cleansing, good for UTIs, full of vitamin C, hearty and filling, packed with anti-oxidants, etc. As published, you have to look up all the different ingredients in the previous chapters to find the nutritional benefits-confusing and a hassle.

This book is very thorough, complete juicing, smoothie and tea book plus more. The juices I made so far are delicious. Remedies to different conditions like dieting, diabetes, digestion, and so many more are listed. The benefits of an extensive amount of fruits, vegetables and herbs are listed. Beautiful pictures in color. I absolutely love this book. Easily read, very clear directions. Can be used by dietitions, doctors, health providers, individuals and families. I had bronchitis and used a juice to treat that condition and my cough disappeared literally by morning. Some amazing ideas I never would have thought about for juicing. Also included are ideas what to do with the pulp in juices, soup ideas. This is really impressive. Enjoy this book and use it often to keep healthy and have delicious juices for all occasions.

I have used this book every day since I received it (approximately 2 wks ago?) with a new recipe or two every day and I absolutely love it! So far I have started out in the veggie juice section and I am always plesently surprised by how delishious every juice is (except maybe the ones with onions which is sad because I love onions). Even my hubby who tends to be picky and hates to try new things loves it! Some of the recipes have items I have never heard of or don't know where to get them but it's really not that big of a deal. The first half of the book describes different body systems and health conditions which I haven't really used too much, but it gives you recipes to help support that system or help that condition. This book also has a list of ingredients (fruits, veggies, herbs) and describes what they do for the body along with recipes, etc. I would recommend this to all of my family and friends!
