I have read a lot about the shenanigans played with funds such as GLD and SLV, and I too prefer CEF and PSLV. I have a little more confidence in the system with these funds. I am willing to hold these longer term. The advantage is that I can buy more with a mouse click, and I can liquidate with another. I have no storage costs. It's fair to argue, perhaps, that I'm not investing for the long term, but so far I am.I also wish that he had spent a chapter on buying stock in gold miners or even more time on the miners ETFs such as GDX and GDXJ. I also think a section on Silver Wheaton would have been worthwhile.
