RINA JAKUBOWICZ is an international bilingual yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, motivational speaker, and author. Known for her vibrant, uplifting approach to yoga and life, Rina has been a teacher of teach¬ers since 2005, presenting at Yoga Journal conferences, Himalayan Institute, Omega Institute, Kripalu Center, and Wanderlust Festivals, as well as in countries across the globe. I am a multiple decade yogi, practitioner and teacher, I am learning so much with this book. I appreciate that it is is mainstream lingo so I am able to just read parts of it to my students and they too understand it.

I wanted to learn more about the mental part of yoga to go along with the physical part. This book was GREAT for that. Easy to read, short descriptions, more like an overview. For more of a detailed history, another book will be necessary, but I learned a LOT that I can incorporate into my yoga practice.

A great introduction for those looking to learn about what yoga means, the eight limbs of yoga, and some of the fundamental tenets. Each one is a short chapter. Rina’s style keeps each philosophy very simple. She has a practice for each philosophy which consists of a pose with a meditation. She also includes an applicable quote with each chapter. I use this book for my yoga classes all the time.

Love this book! All yogis who truly want to practice yoga as it is meant to be should read this book!

I think the style of this writing just doesn't appeal to me. I had expected a bit more practical information I could use in my practice, but haven't really found that.

This is such an amazing book on yoga philosophy. Easy to read and perfectly portioned, perfect introduction to the true wisdom behind yoga.
