I am a 62 year old grandmother, and this is the Best book, I've bought so far, for my grandchildren!! It has every Nursery Rhyme from when I was little as well as the ones we used to say and read to our 3 children! Any mother or grandmother today will recognize at least 80% of these Nursery Rhymes and there are So Many of them, too!! My son and his wife who are 35, just love this Book for their baby twins!! These are all the Nursery rhymes we all grew up with and more! You'll love it, I know!

Very disappointed in this book I'd bought for a Baby Shower "grandma" gift item. Not only is the print small and illustrations gray scale, but the paper is soft and will tear easy. Can't believe I paid $8.99 for it.

My pediatrician told us that rhymes and songs are the best way for kids to learn language skills. That's what drew us to this item in the first place. The book itself has a ton of great rhymes and sing-along songs. However, my son is 18 months old and loves to "read" stories. I was hoping for a book that I could read with him sitting on my lap and helping to turn pages. Despite the cover, the pages themselves are all black and white, no color at all, and the paper is like that of an adult paperback book so not good at all for small hands. If you want something to read to an infant too young to participate in flipping pages and looking at the pictures, it's great for that. If you are looking for book for an older infant who would want to sit on your lap and read it with you, this is definitely not the one.

Nice selection of Rhymes and Songs, as the name implies, and all the favorites I wanted were there. The production quality was not that great---the pictures were wonderful classic illustrations from all the great old books, BUT they were in black and white, and looked like they had been reproduced cheaply. So I'm kind of happy with the book, but wish it was on nicer paper with sharper color images.

Tons of nursery rhymes, but the book is printed in black and white with grainy images on thin paper. My 2 year old child isn't too interested in it because of the visual presentation.

- u dont know what and how sing those rhymes and most of them are unknown to even the new generation.- not worth it, better play them on youtube.

Catana Chetwynd is a self-taught traditional artist and the enthusiastic author of Catana Comics. An excellent addition to this series, I know that others will find this book as entertaining as I did. Well worth reading. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Blood of Bones continues the story from Fae of Fortune with Savannah Sage and her gang of PPD misfits pursuing Averil Anderson, whom Savannah suspects has kidnapped young Raymond and plans to use him for his own evil purposes. Savannah, as usual, is at odds with her police chief and has to operate somewhat clandestinely to rescue Raymond. In the process, she receives unlikely assistance from Seattle’s Wizard clan and her team member Ramsey’s werewolf family. She and her team, which also includes a killer pink teddy bear that can morph into a giant-sized murder machine, nearly destroy Seattle’s Space Needle and other city attractions. The book is funny, exciting, and has a cast of characters that will keep you interested throughout. As with all good series, you’re left anxiously waiting for the next installment.

Intrigue, redemption, vocabulary building! You get it all in ths new Savannah Sage, Seattle PPD story. Savannah and her crew peel back another layer of the onion on the plot in the paranormal world. She and Lurch crash through the city kicking fae and werehyena behinds along the way. The story has just enough clues to get us guessing about who is really behind the scheme and who is the dupe. Lots of fun to read and I learned several new euphemisms for the male package holder. Always useful to know. Another fine addition to the PPD dimension.

Blood of Bones is a thrilling book. It is full of exciting magic, savage shifters, and sarcastic wit. Savannah Sage is one of my favorite heroines. She is a strong character, and she doesn't pull her punches. This book continues Savannah's adventures with the Seattle PPD. Savannah and her team battle to save the city from evil at every turn. You will be hanging on the edge of your seat throughout the book and be begging for more. I highly recommend this book!

I love the Paranormal Police Department series, (PPD for short)... This is book 3 in the Seattle PPD. Savannah Sage is the half fae, half mage head of the Seattle PPD "D" team. Book 3 continues her efforts to bring down an arrogant (aren't they all..) fae businessman trying to take over Seattle. Plenty of action, snark and memorable characters make all the PPD books great reading...

Okay, that's a bit misleading since Savannah was fighting to protect the city - whole world really - from evil, power hungry villains. I enjoy most of the characters she is surrounded by as well. Quite the hodge podge of supernaturals there..Read the book! I highly recommend it!

I think this is my favorite in the series so far. Savannah finally gets some back up and kicks some butt!This book is filled with humor, some eye rolls, werewolves, mages, lots of action and.... Well, just read it and find out

Birdie is apparently a ‘simple-minded’ young girl, as her family call her, and is easily led astray. Since she married farmer Walter Ockwell she hasn’t been seen or heard from and her parents, though they have tried, haven’t had any success in finding her and talking to her.The Ockwell family are fiercely private people and won’t let anyone near Birdie. The family seem to be ruled by Walter’s sister and are very well know in their local area.Arrowood and Barnett take a look into the Ockwell‘s and find out some disturbing information which they go to the local police officer with, though he refuses to help and warns Arrowood to stay away. There’s also the issue of someone who helped them with their enquires going missing too.Arrowood’s not easily beaten though and won’t give up until he’s completed what’s he’s been paid for.I’m a huge Sherlock Holmes fan so when I saw this book I knew I had to read it. At first, I didn’t realise it was the second in a series, but it is fine to read as a stand-alone so not reading the first didn’t hinder me in any way.Arrowood works in the same field as Sherlock Holmes but his methods are completely different. He studies people and their actions and emotions rather than rely on the clues to lead him to the culprit or cause. He also gets paid a lot less than Sherlock’s and takes on poor peoples cases. He also seems to detest Sherlock.The book is narrated by Barnett, Arrowood’s assistant. Author Mick Finlay has certainly done his research into the Victorian era and also the plight of disabled people back in those days. This comes across strong and there is no doubt when turning the pages which era in history you are within.I favour the chase in mystery/detective books far more than the outcome and this book didn’t disappoint, (neither did the finale). After enjoying Arrowood #1 so much, I was anxious to get started on #2 when it was released in the US in February - I was not disappointed - I think there's wisely less emphasis in this one about the running gag/storyline of Arrowood's antipathy to Sherlock Holmes, but when it's mentioned it's very good and I like how the author uses actual Holmes stories as a basis - there's a real familial touch to this series: rather than just a Holmes/Watson knockoff, there's great and regular engagement w/ best friends, sisters, etc. of Arrowood and his partner.The author does a good job of describing both the "cloistered" environment of the farm and their exploitation of some disabled people and the threads that tie them to a conspiracy in the city of London. I very much admired Arrowood's kindness to the victims throughout the story. Arrowood and his partner never have an easy time - their cases involve their brains but also a considerable amount of bumps and bruises and danger which helps raise the stakes in the stories. He has a great sense of justice, even if it doesn't necessarily put coins in his pocket - as in #1, the original case and client becomes less important as the conspiracy evolves.The author really excels at secondary characters and in making the smells and sounds of the underside of Victorian London come alive. This is not a fireside cozy...it's Victorian noir and is rough and muddy...and good.If there was a downside, it's the use of a narrative device that was employed in #1: the unreliable client. It worked well in #1 and well enough in #2, but could quickly get overused.The audio narration is very good and does great justice to the story and the author's work.Really looking forward to #3!

He just needs one big case to make him as well known as that other consulting detective.The Barclays engage Arrowood’s services complaining that their daughter’s husband won’t let them see or talk with her. They are concerned that Birdie has been harmed or is being held against her will on the husband’s rural farm. Birdie is slow and her husband, Walter, has served time for blinding a man in a fit of rage. Despite Arrowood’s concern with the Barclay’s authenticity, Arrowood and Barnett, his scrappy Watson, investigate and find an unusual case indeed.The Murder Pit is the second entry in the series but can be read as a standalone. It is an enjoyable and humorous dive into lower class London and the Holmes canon. Arrowood’s appetite and marital problems seem genuine. Barnett doesn’t always agree with Arrowood but continues to protect him from physical harm.Overall, the unusual setting, superb characterizations and witty banter make the Murder Pit an excellent mystery choice. 4 stars!Thanks to Mira and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the only graphic edition that educators should be using because it's the only one to depict Othello as NOT white. Othello is a Moor, and there is a fruitful discussion to be had about whether that means he's North African or Sub-Saharan African or even about how the Elizabetheans viewed race as a category , but the text very clearly refers to him as a different race than the Venetians. Brabantio is baited by descriptions of the "black ram tupping your white ewe," and other characters describe his complexion as dark and his hair as densely curly. I teach ESL. We need graphic adaptions to help our students access challenging texts. Any edition that markets itself to schools has a responsibility to be truthful and accurate in its representation of the characters. The Manga version makes him a Nordic looking angel - again, not the same thing. The Saddleback version makes him red-haired and pale skinned - it's inaccurate and offensive.

I got this book for my 14 year old cousin to prepare her for the high school reading assignment on Othello. She was able to use this book to help grasp the story before reading the book required by the school. She got an A on her test so I have followed the practice of getting the graphic novel, on a Shakespeare play, first for her, then have her read the play in the full text format.

Everything this Goodwin guy writes is soooo clever and amazing and I can't put it down I just read it and and read it and read it and I think that if you like Shakespere and comic books than you can't anyone better than this othelo one. Theothers one is good to!

I found this book ore satisfying than the other ones in the series because this is all photos, not just drawings of tattoos. It is sort of depressing seeing this broken criminals; I hope someday they do interviews with these people. There is a good dvd documentary connected to the book series which I recommend as a supplement.

A departure from the Russian Criminal Tattoo Encyclopedia series, this book is filled with many actual tattoo photos and a section on identifying facial features commonly found amongst criminals. But you still have the signature common artwork found in the series.These seem to get a bit repetitive, but I enjoy this. Series and story behind the research, as well as the artwork. Check it out if your a fan, or interested in the stories behind the fringe and taboo practice in the gulag.

Been a huge fan of the original 3 books, so I had to buy this one as well. The book isn't shirt on photographs or descriptions but it has nearly no illustrations that made the original 3 so amazing. Overall 4 stars and would definitely buy the next addition.
